Kung Fu Panda 3 won't be in theaters until 2015, so here's a quick rundown on what's happening in the production of the film.
Back in 2010, it was revealed that the Kung Fu Panda will have at least 6 chapters in it. Then by 2012, Kung Fu Panda 3 was officially announced. The film will still be under DreamWorks Animation and Oriental Dreamworks, which is based in Shanghai. Half of the film will be made in China, and the rest will be finished in the United States. This will be the first time that a. Animated film to be co-produced by a Chinese firm. This might be due to the fact that DreamWorks has to work closely to the Chinese censors to make sure that the finished film is acceptable to be shown in the Republic.
It is believed that Kung Fu Panda 3 had already started production. This was ultimately confirmed when newcomer to the franchise, Rebel Wilson, tweeted that she has finished her first recording session for the film. She is apparently be playing Po's love interest in the film. Also joining the cast is Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston, as well as Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen in an unspecified role.
Stars of the previous 2 movies have also confirmed to be returning including Jack Black, Angelina Joli, Seth Rogen, Dustin Hoffman, Jacki Chan, David Cross, and Lucy Liu.
Word around the internet is that we may get our first look at the upcoming film this coming December, but it has not yet been confirmed or denied by the studio.
The film was originally supposed to be released on March 18, 2016, but back in April 2013, the release date for the film was pushed up to December 23, 2015.
