Jurassic World Movie Release Date News, Spoilers, and Updates: Director Pays Tribute to Legendary Actor
This past weekend saw the loss of legendary actor Lord Richard Attenborough. He is known for his acting and directing in films such as The Great Escape, Gandhi, Chaplin, and of course his role in Steven Spielberg's 1993 classic Jurassic Park. The late actor portrayed the rather eccentric John Hammond who envisioned a world of attractions filled with dinosaurs in Jurassic Park.
Director of the upcoming sequel to Jurassic Park, Jurassic World, Colin Trevorrow tweeted on Tuesday a picture of a statue of John Hammond, bearing the likeness of Attenborough. Paying tribute as it seems to the late actor, but also teasing a possible behind the scenes look from Jurassic World as well.
Jurassic World takes place 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park, and Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park as originally envisioned by John Hammond. The park's attendance rates have begun to decline over the years which forces the opening of a new attraction to Jurassic World. The new attraction which was supposed to re-invigorate the interest of the visitors soon backfires. Owen, a member of the Jurassic World crew is a behavioral researcher for the velociraptors, and will now have to survive the chaos that has sprung to the park.
Pre-production of the film started back in 2012 with a working title of Jurassic Park 4. On September 2013, Universal Pictures confirmed that the title of the film will be Jurassic World. Filming began back in April and ended in August 5.
Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson, Nick Robinson, and Ty Simpkins. Jurassic World roars into theaters next Summer on June 12, 2015.
