Android L Release Date, Reports And Rumors: Android L Said To Be The Biggest Android Version In The Operating System's History And Will Be Packed With More Than 5,000 New APIs
We have the latest for you on release date, reports and rumors of Android L. Although Google has not confirmed anything about the new Android L, there are rumors saying that it could be released in late October so that it could be used in the Nexus 8 and other high end devices.
Although no official announcement has been made concerning the new Android L, it is said to be the biggest Android version in the operating system's history. Christian Today reported that it will be packed with more than 5,000 new APIs (Application Programming Interfaces). It is important to note that this is not the final number as the developers could reveal more surprises in the final build of the anticipated update. There were previous speculations which suggested that the new Android L would be released alongside the pure Android devices like the Nexus 6 and probably the Nexus 8 tablet, but the development of those products is now in doubt. Based on the release of the previous Android KitKat 4.4 which happened last year in November, the next OS from Google can be expected between October and November this year.
According to a presentation by Google's Android Team in last month's I/O developer's conference, one of the main considerations of the new Android L is the improved general user interface. The new design will feature a flat interface based on what they call "Material Design". Meanwhile, others believe that the new Android L will be rolling out soon due to the high turnover of gadgets which is making it difficult for developers to upgrade. For example, according to Android Origin, forty-one different Android smartphones were released by Samsung in 2013 alone.
It is very difficult managing different devices and much more when you put into consideration the software updates. This problem, however, could be focused on Samsung alone as other developers do not produce as much as the Samsung Company does, which allows them to concentrate on other flagships and other secondary offerings. The release of the upcoming Android L could be very helpful especially in the release of new flagships and to developers who want to upgrade their devices.
