Sherlock Season 4 Release Date, Spoilers & Latest News, Actor Talks about the "Growing Obsession" Between Two Lead Characters

More and more spoilers of the upcoming 4th season of the hit TV series Sherlock are indicating that Holmes's arch nemesis Jim Moriarty will be returning. And that's not all because apparently, fans are speculating that the return of Moriarty could be brought about by nothing else than his growing obsession and brooding with everyone's favourite detective! Even Irish actor Andrew Scott himself - who plays the role of Moriarty - had expressed surprise and disbelief at how some fans even go on portraying the detective and villain duo as having more of a "romantic" relationship in their fan fictions.

The 37-year old star gave his thoughts on the matter: "There has to be a line. In the words of Erasure, I love to hate you," Scott said.

While fans are busy coming up with their dynamism of the relationship of the two characters, series creators Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat tried to enlighten anticipators more on the subject of Moriarty's return.

"We've had what we're going to do with Moriarty in place from before the second season. Exactly what we're going to do. I remember talking it through with Andrew Scott, who plays Moriarty. Wait and see what's going to happen," Moffat reportedly said.

While Sherlock Season 4 was set to return to the screen on its usual three episodes in 2016, the exact date of the slated release is still not yet final as several cast members like lead actor Benedict Cumberbatch are busy with their other projects.
