Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain Xbox One, PS4, PC Release Date, Trailer And Gameplay: Upcoming Phantom Pain Will Focus More On Open-World Environment Rather Than A Tightly Scripted Campaign
We have the latest news for you on the release date, trailer information and gameplay of Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain. Hideo Kojima's 5th Metal Gear Solid has been in the works for quite a long time, but we are quickly approaching the real deal as the phantom pain is nearing its release.
Metal Gear Solid 5 has had an interesting gestation period though it was originally teased as the Phantom Pain by Moby Dick studio. The very first reveal trailer did not mention Metal Gear at all, but the eagle-eyed gamers spotted the resemblance to Big Boss and soon, the dots were to be joined. Kojima and his team having developed an entirely new game engine, they needed to get the Phantom Pain finished, which is the reason why the opening few hours were spun off into their own game as Ground Zeroes.
Following the events that happened in the Ground Zeroes, where the X.O.F essentially destroyed the Big Boss' militaries San Frontiers Guerilla army, they Phantom Pain will pick up the story nine years later. The Phantom Pain seems to be darker, more mature and more visceral than any of the previous games in the series, with a cracking sound to boot.
Unlike the previous entries from the Metal Gear saga, the upcoming Phantom Pain will focus more on the open-world environment rather than a tightly scripted campaign. The players will be able to explore each one at their own pace, with the time of the day, weather and the previous action all affecting the number and placement of enemy soldiers. You will also have to adapt to changing situations.
The upcoming Phantom Pain will not be an entirely solitary experience rather the players will be able to play online or even infiltrate their friends' home bases. You can even steal resources from your enemies and build a strong defence for yourself. The trailer released also shows some good tricks with Fulton air recovery system, which will let you steal supply crates and use them as a rising platform in the process.
Before Gamescom, it was believed that the Phantom Pain would only be arriving on Xbox One and PS4 next-gen consoles and Xbox 360 and PS3 on the previous-gen consoles but during a question session during the event, Hideo Kojima confirmed that it will also be arriving on the PC too through Valve's Steam service. The release date of the game has not yet been announced by Kojima but The Phantom Pain is expected to be released on all the consoles in the first quarter of 2015. We shall keep you updated on any new news we get on this.
