Taylor Swift Is Going Pop With New Album ‘1989,' Debuts New Single ‘Shake It Off'
Taylor Swift, Grammy winning country princess is officially going pop with her latest album titled "1989," taking from her birth year and kicks it off with the new single "Shake It Off," which were both announced via a Yahoo livestream Monday.
The song was produced by Max Martin, directed by Mark Romanek and written by Shellback, the same hitmaker for Swift's chart-topping songs; "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and "I Knew You Were Trouble." The album is set to be released on October 27.
During the worldwide livestream, the songstress disclosed some more details about the upcoming album. The album has been two years in the making and she commented that this album, which is her fifth one and the follow-up to 2012's Red is the "most sonically cohesive album ever made." The album is also being tagged as her "first documented official pop album."
Aside from a very different style and sound this time, Swift guarantees the fans of three bonus tracks from the album's deluxe version; which are actually voice memos recorded from her phone. She also considers the album as a "rebirth" for her and as a signal of her growth and change. The album's inspiration came particularly from what she calls the "endless possibility" of the late 80s pop music.
In the music video, Swift is seen dancing, jumping, shaking it off as a ballerina that reminds you of Black Swan, with a boombox, with b-boys, dons a gold and silver sparkling tracksuit, in skimpy shorts and bling-bling, as a cheerleader and surrounded by all dancing happy people. She shared that the song's message is about standing up against issues that get you down.
The album is already available for pre-orders on her official website.
