We have the latest news on the movie, reports, rumors and addition of Robin Williams as a character in World of Warcraft video game. Robin Williams was not only a multi-talented actor and a good father, but also an avid gamer. He even named his daughter Zelda after the video game's lead character in the Legend of Zelda. He had many times said that he loved the World of Warcraft. According to Boston Herald, the game is played by about 6.8 million people online.
Robin William used to play the game on the Mannoroth server. He used to completely enjoy his experience of online gaming and pitting his skills against those of other gamers. During an interview, he once said that he used to completely forget time when he was playing online. With him passing on, thousands of fans sent a petition to World of Warcraft's maker, Blizzard Entertainment, to immortalize Robin Williams with a WoW character so that he could still be with them and continue entertaining them. The petition was started by a member of the World of Warcraft community, Jacob Holgate.
The Blizzard Entertainment received around 11,000 petitions to develop a character for the late, who was well loved for his acting and his love for the World of Warcraft game. He was even able to complete World of Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos back in 2002 when it came out. Ion Hazzikostas, the lead game designer of Blizzard Entertainment, said that they are working on the request of the fans and they will respond though they are not sure on which role to give Robin Williams. He also said that it is very likely that the game will be inspired by Robin Williams as an avid gamer, actor and comedian. He added that the character would also be inspired by some of the actor's favorite roles.
Incidentally, the World of Warcraft Movie, which will take place in the World of Azeroth and will have an initial release on 9th March 2016, in France. It is quite evidently that Robin Williams was well loved in his acting career, and his love for the World of Warcraft game was well appreciated.
