Winds of Winter Release Date: George R.R. Martin 'Winds of Winter' Rumors and Pressures from Readers answered, KNME-TV Jean Cocteau Cinema Interview
"A Song of Fire and Ice" by George R.R. Martin's soared in fame. This was since the opening of 'Game of Thrones' at HBO. However, despite that fact the author doesn't feel to rush nor feel to complete his novels quickly. From the interview of KNME-TV Jean Cocteau Cinema, the author explained that he wants to finish the novel series organically comes from him. He knew that the fans are all excited as well as eager to know what would be the ending of the saga and what would happen towards the end. But according to him, the eagerness and excitement from the fans of the book are not yet enough for him to rush the series.
"I certainly feel a desire to finish the book. And it must be said that while I do get a lot of emails and mail of the type you're describing, there are also many, many that are supportive, and probably far more of people saying 'take your time, I love your books, whenever you're ready I'll be here...'".
He also put in plain words why he doesn't want to give estimated completion date I regards to the novels he is writing. He doesn't want to or stop doing so because he would feel committed and obligated. Hence, he just wants it to finish stress-free so that he can come up with the novel more than the fans expect it to be. Before, he tends to give or say something about the date, yet he can't finish it in time. Hence, fans accused him of teasing his fans. However, the author said that is not doing that or purposely do that. Misleading them is nit his purpose.
"In the early days, especially after the third book, because the fourth book took a really long time, and I kept being wrong," "People said when will it be done, and I'd give an answer and it would not be done by then, I would run into some problem, or decide to rewrite, or I would change course." He added.
Martin said that he feels like there's no need for him to rush his upcoming novel entitled, 'Winds of Winter'. However, he admitted that the pressures coming from the HBO show would really inspire him to finish the writings as soon as possible.
"Yes, to some extent it does, but when the writing is going well it doesn't matter," "When I'm there and working, I just kind of fall through my computer screen and I forget the world, I forget deadlines, I forget the TV show, and the emails, and all of that stuff. It's just me and the characters and the world that I'm describing, and I'm writing a page at a time, and a scene at a time, and a word at a time."
