Kutless, Christian rock band, is working on a new album that is set to feature Scott Krippayne in at least one song.
Kutless is an Oregon rock band most known for their 2009 worship album, 'It is Well,' which features the band's first No. 1 adult contemporary single, 'What Faith Can Do,' according to their website. The band is also well-known for their 2005 worship album 'Strong Tower.' They take the creation and performance their worship albums very seriously, focusing making sure that they approach each album with the right heart and the ultimate focus on God.
Band activity on Twitter suggests that Kutless has begun work on a new album, although very little information about the nature of the album has been made available at this time.
Kutless suggested possible connections between the new album and the story of Gideon, in the Bible, on May 13, when the band tweeted, "Seeking the LORD today as we study the life of Gideon! God prepared him to be a 'mighty man of valor'. #newkutlessrecord"
On May 22, Scott Krippayne tweeted, "Ready for day 2 of writing some tunes with kutless #coffee #pingpong #music #Jesus," along with a photo of a Starbucks coffee cup. On the same day, James Mead, of Kutless tweeted, "Had a great day writing with @jonmichahsumrall and @pirkmusic yesterday! Excited for Day 2! #newkitlessrecord"
On the May 22, Kutless also tweeted, "Us with Scott Krippayne working on a song for the #newkutlessrecord nickdepartee @pirkmusic," along with a photo of the musicians being somewhat productive and somewhat silly as they wrote and edited music.
Jon Micah Sumrall, lead singer of Kutless, gave an update on Facebook at around 2 a.m. on May 23, posting, "We've been writing for our new record the whole past week. We have about 20 new songs to work with! I'm looking forward to hearing some of these songs develop as we continue to work on them for the record."
Meanwhile, Kutless is set to begin touring again on June 6, starting at the Harlan Poke Sallat Festival, in Harlan, Kentucky, according to their website. The 'Believer Tour' will promote their 2012 album and will also feature special guests, 'Luminate' and 'Ashes Remain,' as well as N.F. The tour will run until the Fall.
'Believer,' the band's eighth studio album, has had great success reaching 36 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart and topping the iTunes Christian album sales chart and it is continuing to grow in popularity, breathecast reports.
