Hunter Hayes Confronts Bullying with New Single "Invisible;" See the Lyric Video Here
Bullying in schools is a reality that many kids are facing on a day to day basis. Rising country music star Hunter Hayes would not turn a blind eye to such a grave issue and he is addressing the issue head on with his latest single "Invisible." Though Hunter Hayes is already wildly successful at just 22 years old, it turns out the country music star didn't always lead such a charmed life. He too had been a victim of bullying while growing up.
"To me it's also just about being misunderstood," Hayes said about his new single. "Just me being in high school, just the smallest scale I know compared to a lot of stories that I've heard, a lot of people that I've met ... yes, I was a total geek, I was a total nerd, and you know, I still am, and I'm proud of that. But it took me a while to realize that it's OK to be proud of that, right? Because in that time and period of my life, if you didn't fit in, what else was there? Fortunately for me I had incredible parents, I had an incredible support system, musicians around me, and that showed me that there was hope -- that there was maybe something else I could look forward to."
And it's his parents' guidance that he is still grateful for to this day.
"They've always been incredibly supportive, and it's like, we get to celebrate now," he smiled. " ... When I was young, they managed me to essentially watch out for their son and they were always looking out for me -- not just business, but like, making sure it was real. They've always looked after me like that."

Hunter Hayes - "Invisible" Lyric Video
Here are the lyrics to "Invisible:"
Crowded Hallways are the loneliest places for outcasts and rebels
Or anyone who just dares to be different
And you've been trying for so long to find out where your place is
But in their narrow minds, there's no room for anyone who dares to do something different
Oh, but listen for a minute
Trust the one who's been where you are wishing all it was was sticks and stones
Those words cut deep but they don't mean you're all alone
You're not invisible
Hear me out, there's so much more to life than what you're feeling now
Someday you'll look back on all these days and all this pain is gonna be... Invisible
Oh, invisible
So your confidence is quiet
To them quiet looks like weakness but you don't have to fight it
Cause you're strong enough to win without the war
Every heart has a rhythm, let yours beat out so loudly
That everyone can hear it, yeah, promise you don't need to hide it anymore
Oh, and never be afraid of doing something different
Dare to be something more
Trust the one who's been where you are wishing all it was was sticks and stones
Those words cut deep but they don't mean you're all alone
You're not invisible
Hear me out, there's so much more to life than what you're feeling now
Someday you'll look back on all these days and all this pain is gonna be... Invisible
Oh, invisible
These labels that they give you just 'cause they don't understand
If you look past this moment, you'll see you've got a friend
Waving a flag, for who you are, and all you're gonna do
Yeah, so here's to you and here's to anyone who's ever felt invisible
Yeah....
You're not invisible
Hear me out, there's so much more to life than what you're feeling now
Yeah, someday you'll look back on all these days and all this pain is gonna be... Invisible
It'll be invisible
