Born in Toronto, Canada and raised in Vancouver, Mark grew up in a Christian household where gospel music and worship shaped his earliest encounters with melody and rhythm. Commercially, The Firstfruit debuted at No. 1 on Korea's Circle Album Chart, sold over 500,000 copies, and earned a Platinum certification.
