Ginny Owens Leads Worship at Hope Heals Camp, Inspiring Community Through Music and Testimony

Award-winning singer-songwriter Ginny Owens recently spent a week leading worship at Hope Heals Camp, a transformative retreat for individuals and families impacted by disabilities. The experience brought together music, storytelling, and community, creating an atmosphere of joy and encouragement.
Founded by Katherine and Jay Wolf, Hope Heals Camp provides a safe, supportive space for families often living in isolation. The program offers opportunities for honest conversations about life's challenges, moments of creative fun, and powerful times of worship.
"From the closing worship service-where the singing nearly raised the roof-to hearing the stories of courageous women during spa day, the week was overflowing with encouragement and spiritual refreshment," said Owens.
One highlight of the week was the camp talent show, where participants of all abilities shared their gifts. Owens joined a young dancer named Jackson for a performance of her song "The Loudest Voice," an experience she described as "pure joy."
The Mission of Hope Heals
Katherine Wolf, who survived a catastrophic stroke at age 26, and her husband Jay launched Hope Heals in 2008 with the mission to "disrupt the myth that joy can only be found in a pain-free life." Through their ministry, they remind others that suffering and hope are not opposites, but often companions on the journey of faith.
"Christianity offers the unique promise that God works good even through our hardest circumstances," Owens reflected. "That truth changed my life when I was struggling to find work after college. I learned I didn't have to understand the pain-I just had to trust that God was with me in it, working hope."
It was during that season that Owens wrote her signature song, "If You Want Me To." At camp, she shared the song at Katherine's request during a session focused on finding meaning in suffering.
