"Bono: Stories of Surrender" Premieres May 30

Bono's faith has always been central to his music, activism and public life, and now he's putting it all on full display in "Bono: Stories of Surrender," a new documentary premiering May 30 on @appletv. The film, based on his memoir "Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story," takes an intimate look at how faith, family and music have shaped one of the most influential rock stars of the last 40 years.
Directed by Andrew Dominik, the documentary brings Bono's one-man stage show to the screen, blending live performances of U2's biggest hits with personal stories of doubt, belief and transformation. From his complicated relationship with his father to his decades-long journey as an activist, the film captures a deeply personal side of the artist who has never been shy about wrestling with faith in the public eye.
For years, Bono has used his music to explore themes of grace, justice and redemption. Tracks like "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" and "Yahweh" reflect a faith that is both deeply personal and unapologetically searching. In Stories of Surrender, he continues that conversation, reflecting on how his beliefs have influenced his art and his activism, from co-founding (RED) to fighting extreme poverty through the ONE Campaign.
More than just a concert film, "Bono: Stories of Surrender" is a meditation on what it means to live a life shaped by faith-one that embraces doubt, struggles with calling and ultimately seeks something greater.
"Bono: Stories of Surrender" premieres May 30 on Apple TV+.
