GoPro Hero 4 Specs [Can Record 4K 1080p at 120 FPS?] , Release Date, Price, and Other News
GoPro Hero4, as early as last year, has already been rumored to be an even better high definition camera than the current iteration of the product. A September 2013 post at Among Tech says that the "new GoPro Hero4 can record 4K 1080p at 120 FPS or in 720p at 240 FPS." According to the post, the full specs for Hero 4, as gathered from a supposed leak, will include: a 4K (3840 × 2160) Ultra HD H.264 Encoder; 1080p at 120 FPS and 720p at 240 FPS for action videography; 700Mpixels/s oversampling performance; multi-exposure HDR and WDR tone mapping; electronic image stabilization (EIS); improved MCTF with advanced sharpening; remote viewfinder, playback; and enhanced capability to upload pictures and video to social media.
A more recent news from DGISE says GoPro Hero4 "will also come with a 13-megapixel photosensor and a completely new lens for shooting in dark....., a built-in Wi-Fi module, USB & HDMI...and it has the ability to capture still images during video recording and perform encoding H.264/ BP / MP / HP Level 5.1 and MJPEG." Of course, it will still be waterproof like its predecessors and it should be better in other ways than the GoPro Hero3+.
"GoPro Hero4 will hit on shelves in October 2014," according to DGISE.
GoPro Hero4 price will likely be around $400 based on estimates by industry insiders. GoPro Hero3+ Black Edition currently sells at $399.99 at the GoPro website.
To date, there has been on official announcement from GoPro Inc. about the highly anticipated release of GoPro Hero4.
