'Birdman' Releases Official Trailer Starring Michael Keaton, Emma Stone & Zach Galifianakis, Watch Here (VIDEO)
Michael Keaton is back with his starring role in the upcoming Birdman movie. The Alejandro González Iñárritu's dark comedy stars Keaton along with Zach Galifianakis, Edward Norton, Andrea Riseborough, Amy Ryan, Emma Stone, and Naomi Watts.
Birdman tells the story of an actor (Michael Keaton) -- famous for portraying an iconic superhero -- as he struggles to mount a Broadway play. In the days leading up to opening night, he battles his ego and attempts to recover his family, his career, and himself.
Birdman looks even crazier and weirder than Black Swan when it comes to the plot and delusional main character. There are several things that look a bit bizarre in the newly released trailer, which you can check out above. It could make for a great movie that is captivating or make for a movie that doesn't keep peoples attention. Hopefully it will be a strong comeback for Keaton and potentially get some awards nomination hype.
The filming started in March 2013 in New York City. Emma Stone appeared on the set for filming scenes on April 10. She is playing the role of the daughter of Michael Keaton's character. The actor playing Birdman along side Michael Keaton is Benjamin Kanes. According to the film's cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, the camerawork and editing of Birdman will be manipulated to give the appearance that the film is one continuous long take.
On July 10, 2014, it was announced that Birdman had been selected as the opening film of the 71st Venice International Film Festival and would be in competition for the Golden Lion.
Birdman hits theaters on October 17th.
