Jim Gaffigan Show: Jim Gaffigan's CBS Sitcom Gets A 10 Episode Order Deal By TV Land
It is reported that the network announced on Tuesday that it has ordered 10 episodes of the Gaffigan Show starring Jim Gaffigan, the single-camera sitcom that was inspired by the comedian's real life. It will chronicle "One man's struggle in New York City to find a balance between fatherhood, stand-up comedy, and an insatiable appetite.
After some negotiations, TV Land has landed a deal for a 10-episode order for Gaffigan's show, which will henceforth be titled The Gaffigan show. TV Land worked on the budget and brought the overall budget to work out a deal to have Viacom sibling channel comedy central, which is a longtime supporter of Gaffigan. They came to a conclusion that Viacom sibling channel will re-air the show within a week of its premiere on TV Land, which will in turn expose the show to many TV viewers. Concerning the show structure, not much will change as it will remain a single camera show, loosely based on the comedian's life as a stand-up, food fanatic and raising kids in NYC. "I am thrilled that TV Land is giving us this opportunity to do this show that Peter, Jeannie and I have been fine-tuning for three years," said Gaffigan.
The cast has many people we might be familiar with; Ashley Williams (How I Met Your Mother) will play Jim's wife, Adam Goldberg(Fargo) will assume the role of his best friend and Michael Ian Black (Ed) will co-star as his wife's busybody.
The Gaffigan Show will be filmed in NYC as Gaffigan lives here. It will then premiere in TV land in 2015. Tolan, Gaffigan and Jeannie Gaffigan are the executive produces, with Brillstein Entertainment Partners' Alex Murray and Sandy Wernick and Michael Wimer of Fedora Entertainment.
For the followers and lovers of Jim Gaffigan and his comedy, well, this is something to look forward too. We will keep you posted on all the updates from Jim Gaffigan and TV Land.
