'Orange is the New Black' Season 3 Release Date, Hit Netflix Show Wins 'Outstanding New Program' at 2014 TCA Awards (VIDEO)
The 2014 Television Critics Association Awards were Saturday night (July 19) in Beverly Hills, California and Netflix hit show "Orange is the New Black" accepts yet another award.
"Orange is the New Black" cast Taylor Schilling, Danielle Brooks, Uzo Aduba and Kate Mulgrew, who were all in attendance, took home the award for 'Outstanding New Program'.
This comes just days after "Orange is the New Black" was officially nominated for four 2014 Emmy Awards including 'Outstanding Comedy' and Taylor Schilling for 'Best Actress in a Comedy'. The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards when they air on August 25 on NBC at 8/7c.
"Orange is the New Black" cast star Taylor Schilling, who plays Piper Chapman, stopped by "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" to chat. Schilling shared some about her family and also that "Orange is the New Black" Season 3 is currently filming. You can watch the Taylor Schilling interview HERE.
Fans are looking for any new information for Season 3 of the hit Netflix show. In castings news for "Orange is the New Black" Season 3, co-star Laura Prepon, who plays Alex Vause, has confirmed she will be back full time in season 3. She wasn't seen much in Season 2 as she was in hiding most of the episodes. "All the girls are so close, I feel like I never left," Pepron said. "Or like I was there all of season 2. We all wanted me to be there for more of season 2."
Also for Season 3, there are rumors that Jason Biggs character Larry Bloom, Piper's significant other outside of prison, would not have much focus in the upcoming season. Biggs himself said that he has not filmed anything for Season 3 yet. So Larry Bloom's presence in the new episodes might be very limited, we will see.
All 13 episodes of Season 1 of the netflix original series "Orange is the New Black" released exclusively on Netflix July 11, 2013 and Season 2 released in June 2014. So it is pretty safe to say that "Orange is the New Black" Season 3 will release sometime in June of 2015.
