Martin Smith Releases His Most Heartfelt Album & Gets Support from Darlene Zschech
Acclaimed worship artist, songwriter and producer Martin Smith released his brand new album Dancing In The Fire last Friday. The album has been preceded by singles such as "Dancing In The Fire," "Trouble," and "Fire In Your Eyes," and the latest "Our Eyes Are On You (feat. Elle Limebear)."
Smith shares, "This album is so dear to my heart, during the writing of this I was having a revelation of my own self, my humanness, my sadness, my joy. Everything was heightened and I think you can hear 'gratefulness' in these songs."
"I hope the songs are more honest, more direct now. Maybe you become more confident in who you are and more secure in what you want to say. I definitely worry less about what people think and so it allows you to keep on experimenting and being brave."
Fellow worship leader and songwriter Darlene Zschech also shows her support on the day on the album's release, when she writes, "Our friend and one of the great prophets of our day Martin Smith has released his new project today Dancing In the Fire. There's just no one like you Marts. Thanks for the years of digging deep for what we all need to express... you and Anna Smith always have led the way and we are truly thankful. Ok people... Go grab this wherever you get your tunes."
For three decades, the Brighton, U.K.-based Smith has been penning songs that bring fresh air to the lungs of the church, whether as a solo artist or a founding member of the ground-breaking band Delirious?. This includes favorites "Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble?," "Waiting Here For You," "I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever" and "History Maker." Smith's songs have connected generations and inspired and influenced worship leaders and worshippers alike.
