One Direction Live Concert Film "Where We Are" Picked Up for International Release in Theaters on October 11
The joyous cries of teenage girls everywhere we heard when One Direction announced that they would be making a follow-up to their successful live concert film entitled "This Is Us." The boys of 1D made the announcement via video message, where they revealed that the new film will be called "One Direction: Where We Are -The Concert Film" and it will hit theaters for one weekend and one weekend only. It will then be released directly to DVD.
The film will feature live footage from the band's recent show in Milan, and it is targeted to those who were unable to obtain tickets for the sold-out world tour. It is assumed that this new film will be produced by the same team who worked on "This Is Us," and will also be a product of Simon Cowell's Syco Entertainment, as well as Modest!, Arts Alliance, and Sony Music Entertainment.
There will be over 10,000 screenings of the film in over 3,000 movie theaters. Besides the live concert footage filmed at Milan's San Siro soccer stadium, there will also be an exclusive segment of behind-the-scenes footage, as well as a fifteen-minute interview with the boys of One Direction.
"If you haven't had a chance to come see us at our Where We Ares tadium tour this year, or you simply just want to relive it again, we've got a very, very special announcement for you," band member Niall Horan said in the video announcing the release of "Where We Are."
Tickets for the film go on sale July 28. The film itself will show in theaters on October 11 and 12.
