Dan + Shay Share Official Video for "Christmas Isn't Christmas"
Dan + Shay shared the official music video for their poignant original holiday song "Christmas Isn't Christmas" with fans today (WATCH HERE). Shot in Nashville and directed by longtime collaborator Patrick Tracy, the clip finds the duo in a beautiful snow-covered setting for a song inspired by their families.
The duo will bring "Christmas Isn't Christmas" and their previously released original holiday song "Take Me Home For Christmas" (LISTEN HERE). to several TV stages in the coming month, including ABC's CMA Country Christmas on November 30th at 9/8c and NBC's Christmas In Rockefeller Center on December 2nd at 9/8c.
"This song is very close to our hearts," said the duo on their socials. "It was inspired by our families, and all the loved ones in our lives that make the holiday season special. This year has been tough on us all, and not being able to connect with others (especially our fans) in person has really taken an emotional toll. But, out of darkness always comes light, and we feel music has a magical way of bringing us together, even when we are far apart."
The reigning GRAMMY Award winners for Best Country Duo/Group Performance also just received a third consecutive nomination in the category for their massive global smash "10,000 Hours" with Justin Bieber. "10,000 Hours" has already earned several accolades, including Top Country Song at the Billboard Music Awards, Best Lyrics at the iHeartRadio Music Awards and recently becoming the first and only country song to ever win the American Music Awards' all-genre Collaboration of the Year trophy.
"10,000 Hours" recently surpassed 510 million streams on Spotify alone where it also holds the title as the top-streamed track on their Hot Country Playlist this year. The record-breaking track has earned more than 1.4 billion global streams to date and boasts the biggest first-week streaming total in country music history. It was the first song by a country duo or group ever to debut in the Billboard Hot 100's Top 5 and spent 21 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on Hot Country Songs (fourth longest run in chart history). The worldwide hit has achieved 2x Platinum certification in Australia and Canada, Platinum certification in the Netherlands, and Gold certification in four other countries.
The pair also took home the AMA Awards for Favorite Duo or Group - Country and Favorite Song - Country, bringing their total AMA career-wins to five. In addition to their consecutive AMA, CMA and GRAMMY Awards, they are also the reigning ACM Duo of the Year (2x), CMT Duo Video of the Year (3x), Billboard Top Country Duo Group (2x) and more.
Their current Top 5 single "I Should Probably Go To Bed" has earned more than 130 million global streams to date and garnered the highest first-week equivalents for a duo-only release. Hailed as "ripe for arena sing-alongs" by Billboard, it was produced by the duo's Dan Smyers and co-written alongside bandmate Shay Mooney. Having reached No.1 on the Country Digital Songs Sales chart upon release, the track's music video took home the CMT Award for Duo Video of the Year (WATCH HERE).
With more than 6.5 billion career streams, Dan + Shay have garnered more than two dozen GRAMMY, ACM, American Music, Billboard Music, CMA and CMT Award wins and nominations. The duo took home a second consecutive GRAMMY for Best Country Duo/Group Performance earlier this year (2020 - "Speechless," 2019 - "Tequila"). Their Platinum-certified self-titled album included global hit "Tequila" (5x Platinum), multi-format hit "Speechless" (4x Platinum), and No.1 country song "All To Myself" (2x Platinum). In the seven years since they formed, Dan + Shay have accumulated 32 total RIAA certifications and achieved seven No. 1 singles at country radio.
