Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy's Sam and Cat Cancelled: Disagreements on Set and Leaked Photos to Blame?
As it turns out Nickelodeon has cancelled the Sam and Cat show that starred rising pop singer, Arianna Grande after only a season. The hit show was well on its way but there were rumors of a disagreement between the show's star Arianna and her co-star, Jennette McCurdy over financials. A Nickelodeon spokesperson told the Hollywood reporter that as a production house, they were proud of the first season and the cast and they wish them the best of luck in their future. The show runner Dan Schneider, is yet to give any comment on the matter.
The decision from Nickelodeon to no longer air the show has been linked to the quite tasteful photos of Jennette McCurdy which leaked online some months before. There were also reports of a dispute between her and the lead role Arianna, implying that they were not able to cooperate on the set. This is added to the rumor that they had disagreements with the producers concerning the salaries. Of course at the time, Jennette denied any truth to the rumors including the photos as the reason for the show's cancellation.
This is not the first time that Arianna has featured on Nickelodeon shows though as she made her first appearance with the series hit: Victorious and iCarly. She reportedly went on Facebook and posted that she was grateful to Nickelodeon for everything they had given her as it was her childhood dream. She is also grateful to them for being supportive of her multitasking with a music career also on her plate. Arianna's music career is currently making waves with her hit song: Problem featuring Iggi Azalea, flying high on the billboards.
