Tammy Trent Celebrates 25 Years of Ministry
This past week, many friends, family and elite industry friends gathered in Nashville, TN to celebrate and honor the ministry of Tammy Trent for the past 25 years.
Trent's involvement in music began when she became a state finalist in the Assemblies of God "Teen Talent Competition" in 1985. It was in May 1995 when Tammy released her debut album and 6 weeks later, her first single, "Your Love is 4 Always" reached #1 on the CHR (Christian Hit Radio) Charts.
Two more albums would follow, producing a number of Top 10 Hits, including the #1 Hit Song "My Irreplaceable" on the AC (Adult Contemporary) Charts.
Trent is also known for her hits such as "Welcome Home", "Run To The Cross," & "Rain On Me." But on September 11th, 2001 her songs ceased for a time. Tammy stepped away from the spotlight to heal after the tragic death of her husband and childhood sweetheart while on a mission's trip. That day would change the world forever. That day changed Tammy forever.
One year later she returned as a featured speaker and performer at the Extraordinary Women's conference and was also asked to share the Women Of Faith platform for four years with her friends Sheila Walsh, Patsy Clairmont, Carol Kent, Kathy Troccoli, Anita Renfroe, and Luci Swindoll. During that time Tammy also became a featured speaker, singer, and author for The Revolve Tour for teen girls for two years. Her personal story of tragedy, restoration, healing, and hope crossed over generational lines and her music inspired all ages, bringing strength and renewed joy.
She has authored 3 books, including Learning To Breathe Again: Choosing Life And Finding Hope After A Shattering Loss (W Publishing-Women of Faith Book Selection), Beyond The Sorrow: There's Hope In The Promises of God (J Countryman Thomas Nelson), and she co-penned the hilarious and brilliantly illustrated children's book, The Log Family: See You At The Beach (September Day) with her late husband Trent Lenderink, who sadly never got to see his work completed.
Her latest album, Sunny Days, is packed with strong, infectious melodies and is lyrically covered with the promises of Hope. Tammy, who co-wrote eight of the 10 songs, says, "Although this is my sixth studio record, it's the first album that I can truly say really captured everything that is so important to me. All these songs are my way of responding to God's sustaining grace in my life. I love to worship and feel captured by the Father when I just can't seem to breathe on my own; I love to dance because it's so freeing and injects so much fun and joy into my life; and I'm still over the moon excited about sharing my faith and hope with those that feel like leaning in for a listen."
She has since walked the road back to healing and has allowed God to use her life's experiences, new music and her books to literally help millions across the world to also find healing, restoration, strength, hope and joy again in the worst of circumstances.
Today, Tammy honors the past, celebrates the present and embraces the future!
