Supernatural 10 Preview, Sneak Peek and Spoilers: New Character Called “Rowena” to be Introduced

Jim Michaels, Supernatural co-executive producer, tweeted followers, "Please note that the season 10 premiere of #Supernatural in NOT titled Soul Survivor! Thx!" Rather, it will be the title of the third episode of the season and that episode will be directed by Jensen Ackles (aka "Dean Winchester" in the series).  The Jensen-directed episode will introduce "Rowena," a new recurring character.

In casting for "Rowena," according to TVLine, "actresses who have or can perfect a Scottish accent are preferred." This new character, continued the source, is "a tough but elegant woman who will stop at nothing to reclaim her power base." Stop at nothing to reclaim her power base? Will she be friend or foe? We'll know soon enough come October 7 when Supernatural returns at its regular Tuesday 9:00 time slot, right after The Flash, CW's newest superhero TV series.

In any event, CW has already released the official synopsis for Season 10 which "begins with Sam's frantic search for his brother who is gone without a trace. The road to recovering the wayward Dean takes Sam down dark paths, with consequences that will shake the boys to their core..." Obviously, the first episode will at some point have to take off from where the finale of Season 9 left us all hanging -  dead Dean Winchester resurrecting as black-eyed Demon Dean. However, unlike regular demons, Demon Dean now also has the power of the Mark of Cain, and with it the First Blade, and with that an increasingly insatiable appetite for killing. If he disappeared without a trace, where could he be? Last we saw him, Crowley (Mark Sheppard) was at his bedside. Since Sam in his search for him will go "down dark Paths," could he be back in hell?

Much of Season 10 will also allow us to take a look at Castiel's (Misha Collins) situation following the Metatrone saga. Said CW, "With his grace failing and rogue angels still on the loose, Cass will face the ticking clock of his own mortality as all-new threats emerge to once again push our heroes to their limits." So, there will be "all-new threats" we can still look forward to.
