NCC Worship To Host, Record "The Jesus Way" Concert On Ash Wednesday
As Christians prepare for the Lenten season, Washington, D.C.'s National Community Church and its creative arts team, NCC Worship, encourage people of faith to set aside political divisiveness, choosing instead "the Jesus way" of life. The church will host a free, public concert featuring songs inspired by this Kingdom perspective on Ash Wednesday, February 26.
Working with Gospel and R&B artist/producer Greg Cox, NCC Worship will record and release the new music later this spring as The Jesus Way. According to Worship Pastor Chris Douglas, the project, like NCC's congregation, will reflect a melting pot of cultures and musical styles with lyrics that focus on Jesus' gospel of grace.
"The Jesus Way is a musical representation of the journey of understanding who we are in God, created in God's image and part of God's eternal kingdom," says Douglas. "We are purposefully recording it on Ash Wednesday to emphasize the call to be 'Christ followers,' journeying together in love, humility, prayer, repentance and service to one another and our neighbors."
The concert and live recording will be held at The Capital Turnaround located at 770 M Street, SE. Registration is recommended with complimentary tickets available at NCC Worship_LiveRecording. For more information, visit National Community Church and follow NCC Worship on Instagram @NCCWorship and on Facebook @NCCWorshipOnline. To listen to NCC Worship's music, visit Spotify and Pandora.
