Jurassic World Movie Spoilers: Set Twenty-two Years After Jurrasic Park III, A New Form of Genetically Modified Dinosaur Will Wreak Havoc
Steven Spielberg's Jurassic World (aka Jurassic Park IV) is the fourth film in the Jurassic Park multimedia franchise based on the Michael Crichton novel of the same name. According to Universal Studios, it will be released in 3D on June 12, 2015, a Friday.
Directed by Colin Trevorrow based on a script he co-wrote with Derek Connolly, the movie stars Chris Pratt as "Owen," an ex-military who works at the theme park, Bryce Dallas Howard as "Beth," a corporate scientist for an unknown organization, Irrfan Khan as "Patel," the head of Patel Corporation which is the new owner of the theme park, and Vincent D'Onofrio as "Morton," Patel's CFO. Others confirmed in the cast include Jake Johnson, Nick Robinson, Ty Simpkins, Judy Greer, Katie McGrath, Lauren Lapkus, B.D. Wong reprising his role in the first film as "Dr. Wu", Brian Tee, Andy Buckley and James DuMont.
Jurassic World will take off twenty-two years after the Jurassic Park III incidents. Now under new ownership and new management, the devastated theme park and other InGen facilities will have been totally re-built and restored. In fact, according to an exclusive by JoBlo, "Jurassic Park 4, set in present day Isla Nublar, is now an actual theme park, as originally intended by John Hammond in the first film. It garners 10 million visitors per year and is completely safe - until it's not. The park itself is described as very Sea World-esque and includes an area called the Isla Nublar Lagoon. So, to sum it all up, Jurassic Park 4 will take place back on Isla Nublar with a fully operational dinosaur theme park that's both prosperous and safe, until a new dinosaur figures out a way to wreak havoc, causing the use of the now tamed Velociraptors (and T-Rex?) as a means to fighting the threat."
How did the new dinosaur threat came about? Chris Pratt told Yahoo UK that the park has somehow lost its novelty and "has been around long enough for the attendance to fall off so they decided to come up with a new attraction to bring even more people in. And - you're never going to believe it - but it doesn't go well." As it turned out, a new form of dinosaur was genetically modified which eventually proved much smarter than expected. To combat the new threat to the park, the humans must now use their tamed Velociraptors to do battle for them. So how's that for a major spoiler? Watch Jurassic World and see dino vs. dino fights galore?
