'Harry Potter' New Story 2014 Written from Author J.K. Rowling, Read Here (VIDEO)
J.K. Rowling has been writing several short pieces about an adult Harry Potter that coincide with the 2014 World Cup. Rowling has been posting these stories on her website, Pottermore. The Pottermore website has been around for a few years now, as you can see in the video above, but she is still adding new material to it.
The new story series follows the Quidditch World Cup to coincide with the World Cup in Brazil, which has included match reports and newspaper articles. Rowling picks up the character of Harry Potter, who is now an adult in his thirties (and with greying hair) as he visits and attends the Quidditch World Cup final. The stories are written as newspaper articles through the character of gossip journalist Rita Skeeter. It also dives into more information about the other characters since the last book.
A spokesperson for Rowling spoke with The Bookseller sharing the author has "no plans" to write any more about the adult Harry. However, this shows that maybe she has an passion to share more about the characters as they venture through adulthood. Rowling gives fans a hint of Harry's new life by describing a mysterious cut over his cheekbone which signifies his membership of a top-secret group of wizards called the Aurors.
You can read the latest 1,500-word story on the Pottermore website, but you have to sign-in to read it all. Do you think this signifies more Harry Potter in the future or do you think this is just a little tease for Rowling to show she still has the characters on her mind?
