John Schneider Scores First Number One Christian Country Single with New Cody McCarver Duet
Actor and Country Music star John Schneider has landed his very first #1 Christian Country single with the new song, "These Hands." The duet with Cody McCarver, formerly of the multi-platinum band Confederate Railroad, tops this week's PowerSource Christian Country Chart.
"I'm so glad that my friend Cody McCarver asked me to join him on this amazing song and I love to see where God has taken it," said Schneider. "Imagine... Confederate Railroad and The Dukes of Hazzard having the number '01' song in the country. God is great!"
"People are calling what I write and record 'Outlaw Gospel,'" said McCarver. "It's very appropriate especially for the sound of this particular song. Not only have I been a twenty-year friend of John Schneider, I am also a lifetime FAN of him as a person and entertainer. What an honor to record with him. He didn't have to give me his time, but he did. That's what kind of guy he is and I am forever thankful. I am also forever thankful to radio stations that played this song. God is good!"
The hit single caps a busy year for Schneider, whose new autobiography, My Life, My Way, was released November 15th, followed by the Thanksgiving release of his new holiday film, Christmas Cars. Both are available now at Amazon and JohnSchneiderStudios.com. Earlier this year, Schneider, who has over 20 albums to his credit and four #1 singles on the Billboard Country chart, released the southern rock inspired album, Redneck Rebel (produced by Cody McCarver), followed by the new inspirational album, Recycling Grace.
In addition to the iconic role of "Bo Duke" in The Dukes of Hazzard, Schneider's extensive acting career includes the hit series Smallville and his current series, Tyler Perry's The Haves and the Have Nots - the #1 primetime series on cable on Tuesday nights. Schneider was also a fan favorite on Dancing with the Stars last fall.
It's also worth noting that Schneider co-founded the Children's Miracle Network - a non-profit organization that raises funds for children's hospitals, medical research, and community awareness of children's health issues. Founded in 1983, they have raised more than $7 billion dollars (with over $409 million in 2018 alone) for medical research and community awareness of children's health issues, which is distributed directly to a network of 170 children's hospitals.
