Apple has changed their body design material for the upcoming iPhone 6 and other line-up of new devices to impress and push innovation in 2014. The california based tech company is planning to use Sapphire glass for the iPhone 6, which they consider "virtually scratch free" and "nearly indestructible."
AppleInsider released a new video today rumored to come from a supplier in Hong Kong giving the first glimpse at a 4.7-inch iPhone 6 front panel with a sapphire display. The video shows a white front panel from Apple's new iPhone 6, which is shown side-by-side with iPhone 5S and sized up for good measure. The front panel also is revealed to be flexible when bent slightly between two hands, suggesting the part is not composed of the more rigid Gorilla Glass that was used to make previous iPhone models.
Apple has even built a new factory in Arizona (costing over $500 million) that is being used to manufacture the sapphire glass which was confirmed by CEO Tim Cook. Sapphire is currently only used in the iPhone 5s's Touch ID Home button and the cover of the iPhone's rear-facing camera. But with Apple being serious enough to open an entire factory to make the material, it's a safe bet that they have bigger future plans for the use of the Sapphire.
Apple's highly anticipated iPhone 6 will release this Fall and competing for best smartphone of 2014 as they will be competing with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 that will release around the same time in September/October. This is pretty typical for Apple's pattern of releasing new products.
The iPhone 6 could raise the price by as much as $100 to cover a larger screen, new glass covering the front and new, more impressive, materials used in construction. The iPhone 5S is currently $649-849 for contract free phones depending on storage space and $199-399 with a new 2 year-contract.
TiPhone 6 will come with atleast 64 bit architecture as A8 processor. The iPhone 6 will also comes with next extended version of iOS 8. The iPhone 6 will have a 4.7 inch screen and possibily a 5.5 inches screen as well with 2K resolution based screen and protected by Sapphire glass covering. The camera may not increase the MP, leaving it at 8MP. But there are expected to at least be subtle improvements to please the user. The iPhone 5S already comes with fingerprint scanner, so its successor, the iPhone 6 will of course hold this feature as well.
The Apple iPhone 6 will come with upp to 128GB internal storage or expandable storage, heart rate EarPods, a NFC chip, wireless charging compatibility with Apple's rumoured iWatch and Sapphire glass and LiquidMetal design. Reports are the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will be 66mm wide and 7.0mm thick (the 5S is 58.6 x 7.6mm).
