Sandra McCracken Releases New Hymn "Christ is the Life of the World"

Singer, worship leader, record producer and modern-day hymn writer Sandra McCracken has released a new hymn "Christ is the Life of the World." Produced by Ben Shive, this recording features Matt Pierson on bass, Tim Nicholson on piano, Jacob Schrodt on drums, engineering by Logan Matheny and audio mixing by Shane Wilson.

"This one is special to me. I woke up from sleep late one winter night and wrote it quickly by candlelight. I fell back asleep and was surprised to find that it was still there in the morning."

"The song was inspired by several ideas. Wendell Berry playfully equates the term 'membership' with belonging. The Apostle Paul sings in his letter to the Colossians that all things hold together in Christ. Alexander Schmemann in "For The Life of the World" pulls these threads in close, reminding us that at the communion table, we are re-membered by Christ. Things that have been dis-membered in our lives and in ourselves are made whole again."
