'Under the Dome' Season 2 CBS Spoilers, Cast Updates and Preview (VIDEO)
"Under the Dome" Season 2 premiered Monday night (June 30) on CBS and didn't take long to shock the audiences. SPOILER (if you haven't watched Season 2 premiere) The Stephen King thriller series killed off three main characters and provided some angry ghosts in the premiere episode.
So who was killed off in episode 1? The first was Officer Linda Esquivel (Natalie Martinez) who was killed attempting to save Barbie's life. Barbie was able to free with some help so she was spared, but it was Linda who got hit by a car and killing her instantly. Lastly, Angie got by an axe.
This was a lot for one episode but months ago producer Neal Baer shared that Stephen King himself will actually write the first episode of Season 2 for the show. The series, of course is based off of King's book Under The Dome. He shared that King would like more deaths upcoming on the show and hopes more characters will be killed off. "He says, kill more! We say, Stephen, we can't. It's TV, so we can't do that. He's like, 'Kill everybody!'," Neal said. "He's got the dark edge whereas Steven Spielberg, another of our executive producers, brings the hope and light, which we see in the teen characters."
Sure, looks like King got his way!
"Under the Dome" stars Alexander Koch, Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Dean Norris and Britt Robertson and more. The shows first season on CBS premiered to a staggering 13.8 million viewers, which made the show an immediate success.
"Under the Dome" airs on Monday nights at 10 p.m EST on CBS.
