Beyonce & Jay-Z 2014 Summer Tour Dates, Pastor Praises Contributions of Millions from Former Destiny's Child Member to Hometown Houston church (VIDEO)
Jay Z and Beyoncé have kicked off their 'On The Run' 2014 Summer Tour (check out full dates below).
The "Crazy in Love" duo released some behind the scenes rehearsal footage gearing up for their tour, which you can watch above.
Houston area Pastor, Rudy Rasmus, of St. Johns Downtown has been speaking up in support of popstar Beyonce' and all of the contributions she has made to her childhood church. "She has a global platform and is doing some amazing work and I'm glad she's a friend of mine."
Rasmus said Beyonce and her family have donated millions to the church to help house the homeless and feed the poor. "She's an incredible human being. Has an incredible heart and has been extremely helpful in our mission and our ministry here."
Pastor Rasmus was the officiate at Beyonce's 2008 wedding to rapper Jay Z. With rumors of marriage problems in the news recently and family disputes, such as when video of an elevator altercation between Beyonce's sister Solange and Jay Z was made public, Rasmus says he ignores the tabloids. "And I validate my information with a conversation with the individual."
Pastor Rasmus is writing his new book titled, Love Period. When All Else Fails. He shares, "When we decide to love period, we're saying there's nothing to follow the period. We're gonna love you for who you are, where you are, without conditions."
Beyonce attended St. Johns since she was a young girl. "She used to sing right here," said Rasmus. "I don't remember the song but I do remember she had long braids, tennis shoes and jeans on. A far cry from what she is today."
Rasmus believes Beyonce now embodies the spirit of the book he hopes touches the world. "Love never fails. A lot of things will fail but love will never disappoint you."
He shares that his church wants to be known as an extended family that includes people from all walks of life, from the very poor to international icon and Houston native Beyonce Knowles. "What we're saying is there are literally no borders or boundaries that determine whether or not a person can be part of our extended family here," said Rasmus.
