Kanye West New Album 2014 Rick Rubin Producing & French Montana In Studio
Kanye West is working on his new album follow-up to Yesszus and legendary producer Rick Rubin revealed that he has been working with Kanye West on his new record. He spoke with BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe and shared the process he has been doing through recently with West as they work on the new tracks.
Rubin shares, "There were loads of great ideas and there were many many tracks and we listened to everything together," said Rubin on his first listen of the 'Yeezus' demos. "He originally came over and said 'I wanna come play you my new album' and I thought we'd be listening to a finished album. Then we listened to about three hours of music, most of which didn't have vocals, and at the end I was like 'wow, so what's it gonna be?' I'm thinking it's a year away and he was like 'well, I'm putting it out in like 5-6 weeks. It was just a funny conversation because it was completely normal to him, it's just the way he works... today, Kanye West is coming in and we're starting looking at vocal ideas for things for the next album."
West has also been working with Q-Tip on the new album as well along with Rubin. French Montana also shared last month that he has been working with Kanye as well, with West producing and rapping on the new tracks. "Well, I just worked with Kanye," he said in May of this year. "Me and Kanye was working yesterday. We did like four songs...He produced and rapping. So, we still going back and forth. We even considering him producing my album... We just sit there and we talk about everything that's going on with Hip Hop. This and that. And just come up with the best songs we can come up with."
Montana spoke about the new songs with West and with MTV they will be for his new album, "I got Kanye on the album. Got will.i.am on the album. I got Durk on the album. Chinx on the album. Just the home team, man. Ross. Diddy...We been working on his [Kanye West] album and mine. So, we just going back and forth."
Khole Kardashian is currently dating French Montana, so we wonder if that has helped the relationship grow with Kanye, who is married to Khole's sister Kim.
Rubin helped produce Kanye's 2013 album Yeezus and it appears that had a good enough working relationship to dig into a new set of tracks together for West's next album. No release dates have been set for the new album, but he likes to keep things pretty mysterious until the last minute to build hype.
