Tyscot Records Wraps Another Banner Year On Billboard End-of-the-Year Charts

The year of 2018 was another banner year for Tyscot Records nurturing established artists and propelling rising stars to higher platforms. Anthony Brown & group therAPy enjoyed another big year as the dynamic Washington, D.C. area group maintained its spot as the sixth most popular act of the year on Billboard Magazine's Top Gospel Artists chart for the second year in a row. Nineteen-year-old newcomer, Kelontae Gavin, from South Carolina, makes his debut on the same chart, coming in at No. 16 for the year off of the strength of his breakthrough radio single, "No Ordinary Worship," which has racked up over 10 million streams this year.
Veteran artist, Vashawn Mitchell's "Cross Music" EP features the feverish track, "He Got Up," which finished at No. 40 on the Hot Gospel Songs chart for the year. Southern sweetie, Ruth La'Ontra, received an early Christmas gift with her uplifting church anthem, "Kingdom," surfacing on two year-end charts. However, she and her husband, Kashif, are expecting an even greater gift very soon. Their second child is scheduled to arrive on Christmas eve.
