Balsam Range Takes Home Three Honors at IBMA awards

Mountain Home Music Company congratulates Balsam Range for winning the International Bluegrass Music Association's biggest award, Entertainer of the Year at this year's awards ceremony at the Duke Energy Center in Raleigh.
This marks the third time the group has received the honor, voted on by the IBMA membership.
The guys of Balsam Range took home two other awards at the ceremony, highlighting individual talents in the group. Vocalist and fiddle player Buddy Meltonwas awarded Male Vocalist of the Year and bassist and dobro player Tim Surrettwas named Bass Player of the Year.
With these awards, Balsam Range has won more than a dozen honors at IBMA.
The group will continue their week at IBMA with two performances. One being "The TRUST" set at 4:15 p.m. at The Red Hat, which aligns with the release of an album titled, Come See About Me: A Benefit for the IBMA Trust Fund, a collection of songs chosen specifically for this project. The second show will be at the Capitol Stage at 9:45 p.m.

Balsam Range, formed in 2007, has become one of the genre's most award-winning acts in recent years, garnering 13 International Bluegrass Media Association Awards on the heels of six critically-acclaimed albums. The group has left audiences spellbound while headlining major festivals from coast-to-coast, selling out venues across the nation and in multiple appearances at the Grand Ole Opry. Earlier this year, Balsam Range released "Mountain Overture," a collaboration with the Atlanta Pops Orchestra Ensemble that debuted on the Billboard Bluegrass Chart at #5 and the Classical Crossover Chart at #6. Their previous outing, Mountain Voodoo, debuted at #4 on the Billboard Bluegrass Albums Chart and remained on that chart for 45 weeks. Three singles from that album reached #1 on the Bluegrass Today Chart, including "Blue Collar Dreams," which spent three consecutive months at the top.
