Paul Coleman Announces Work on New Ninth Studio Album (VIDEO)
Singer/songwriter Paul Coleman has announced that he has began writing songs for his ninth solo album. He will be going the route of IndieGoGo to raise the money for the album. You can check out his campaign page and donate to the new project HERE.
This will be the second straight album that Coleman has done through fan fundraising including his last album, the 2012 release From the Saltland to the River.
"I have a brand new bunch of songs. It's all about punching in a new set of coordinates and going in a new direction. It's about playing the second half of the game, about going into the wind," shares Coleman.
He has made a name for himself as a Christian musician independently, with his band the Paul Colman Trio, as a solo artist, and recently with the Newsboys. His songwriting abilities have been acknowledged with a Grammy nomination and multiple Dove Awards.
Coleman's solo discography: Life Is Where You Are EP (1997), The Band Thing (1997), One Voice, One Guitar (1998), Official Bootleg (2000), One Voice One Guitar Vol 2 (2005), Let It Go (2005), History (2009), If I Was Jesus EP (2009) and From the Saltland to the River (2012).
What do you guys think about more and more established artists using crowd-fundrasing sites like Indiegogo, Kickstarter, etc. Do you like that the artists are being pro-active, are you upset at record labels for dropping the ball or do you think its a win-win for everyone?
