Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz Launching DCD2 Records
Fall Out Boy bass player Pete Wentz is re-launching his Record Label Decaydance, but under the new name DCD2 Records. He has signed the first two bands to his label, New Politics (who are opening up for Fall Out Boy and Paramore on the Monumentour) and LOLO.
Here is what Pete said about the new label:
"The idea behind the label originally was a gang, something that would be us versus the world... I took a few years off the same time the band did but I didn't stop listening to new music... I always felt like it was my responsibility to nurture and magnify the profile of other artists... Today we begin doing that again. Today I want to announce DCD2- this is the next chapter, the renaissance, and I'd like to welcome New Politics and LOLO to the family. I feel like I have more time to devote to this again and the state of music is so exciting right now. Though we are launching this independently, we are open to working with people who are dedicated, passionate and interested in finding new ways to operate. Stay tuned for more announcements coming soon.
Welcome to decade 2. DCD2.
PW"
