Kari Jobe Talks "Prophetic" Dream That Inspired Hit Song 'Heal Our Land'

Contemporary Christian music artist Kari Jobe recently revealed that she created the song “Heal Our Land” after having a “prophetic dream.”
"I had this dream on the tour that it was raining inside this church," Jobe said to Fox News, referring to the song that is also featured on her latest album, "The Garden." "It was just like a pure water all over the floor of this church - that was just like washing the floor, but it was like pure and clean. It wasn't murky and dirty like you would imagine," she said.
Upon waking up, Jobe felt that it was a prophetic dream because she believes God was trying to remind the people that he will come for a “pure and spotless bride,” as suggested in the New Testament, particularly Jesus’ relationship with the church.
"It's his heart to come back for us, but we're not there yet,” she added.
The song’s section between the verse and the chorus is based on the scripture taken from 2 Chronicles 7:14- a verse used by many Christian leaders for revival events, such as prayer gatherings.
“If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land,” the verse reads.
Jobe, who took on the hosting duties for the 48th Annual Dove Awards this October, wrote “Heal Our Land” with her close pal, singer-songwriter Brooke Ligertwood. The Waco, Texas native is also known for her songs “I Am Not Alone” and “Forever,” and has been performing on a yearlong tour as she leads worship in cities across the U.S.
All in all, Jobe believes there can only be healing when we turn to God; she also aims to bring even more individuals to develop and strengthen their relationship with Christ by means of her music. These include her performances for The Garden Tour, which concludes in December.
