Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2018 Nominees Announced- From Depeche Mode to LL Cool J

The nominees for the 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction were announced on October 4. Artists who comprised the list brought on an interesting mix, from names that graced the list for the first time to those who fans believe should have been nominated a long time ago.
This year’s nominees include 19 artists from various musical genres. To be qualified for nomination, a band or artist should have released their first commercial recording 25 years or more prior to the year of induction. Therefore, the nominees for 2018 should have released their first official recording in 1992 or earlier.
Nine of the artists nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2018 Induction are first-timers to be included in the highly-esteemed list. These include Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, the Eurythmics, Dire Straits, Judas Priest, Kate Bush, Moody Blues, Nina Simone, and Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
The voting body, which consists of over 900 members, including music artists and other personalities from the music industry across the globe, will receive the ballots. Fans will also be given the opportunity to take part in the voting process.
Voting began last October 5 and will continue on through 11:59 p.m. EST on Dec. 5, 2017. Fans of these music artists can log on to rockhall.com/vote to send in their votes for those who think they deserve a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
A Facebook account or email is required for voting; only one ballot per person will be counted daily.
The top five music artists chosen will include a “fans’ ballot” that will be counted together with the other ballots to finally select the inductees for 2018.
The final list of 2018 inductees is set to be revealed in December; the ceremony for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2018 Inductions is scheduled on April 14, 2018 in Cleveland.
HBO is expected to broadcast the induction ceremony; broadcast details are yet to be announced.
