Linkin Park Singer Chester Bennington Commits Suicide at 41; 'One More Light' Fans Ask Why

Chester Bennington, Linkin Park lead singer, has committed suicide. His body was discovered in his residence in Palos Verde, CA on Thursday, July 20, 2017 before 9 in the morning, according to TMZ. Chester has allegedly hanged himself, at the age of 41.
Linkin Park has recently released a new album, "One More Light," which has topped the Billboard 200 earlier this year, as Billboard reports. Why did this tragedy happen to Linkin Park's frontman?
Fans and rockers alike are devastated. Having struggled with substance abuse, addiction, and sexual abuse as a child, Chester ended his life leaving behind six children, according to TMZ. The famed musician reportedly had harbored suicidal thoughts prior to this day.
Earlier this year, Chester expressed his condolence to the passing of his close friend and American musician Chris Cornell. "With all my love @chriscornell," tweeted Chester on May 18, 2017. Today would have been Chris Cornell's 53rd birthday. Could the two tragedies have been linked in American rock 'n' roll history? Fans and families react nonstop on Facebook and Twitter.
"R.I.P Chester!! Your music helped me so much when I was troubled. It still helps me voice the feelings I can't identify. Rest peacefully," wishes a fan on Facebook.
