Story Behind Darlene Zschech's "Daylight"
Renowned worship leader, author and pastor Darlene Zschech has just released Here I Am Send Me(Hineni) CD/DVD from Integrity Music. Recorded live with her team at Hope Unlimited Church on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia, the album is Zschech's first project following a life changing cancer diagnosis in 2014 and features 11 new songs penned by her along with guest writers like Martin Smith, Paul Baloche, Jenn Johnson and Leeland Mooring.
Here I Am Send Me is also Zschech's first new album since 2013's critically acclaimed Revealing Jesus. One of the key songs on the record is "Daylight," a track written by Zschech and Beth Gleeson. Zschech talks about how the song came about: "Psalm 18 is where this song has come from. Our never-failing God, our Rock, our immovable Foundation, our strong Tower. Find your security in His promises, and the strength of His love for you today and always. Our Hope will ever rest in Him.
I wrote this with my beautiful friend Beth Gleeson, wife and mum-with the purest heart after God, and one of the best writers I know. It was a stunning day on the Central Coast, and both of us were trusting God for breakthrough in different areas of our lives. And as we worshipped this line, 'You won't let go, You won't give in, You surround me with Your love' just poured out. Oh, how I love watching God's promises break through our lives like the dawn... 'the earth may groan, but a SONG of HOPE continues to rise like loud glory...'"
I will dwell in Your promise / In the light of Your truth / You're the Hope that sustains me / Always safe here with You / You are here in the valley / You are here in the storm / You're the glory of daylight / Breaking through like the dawn You are God Most High / Yet You hear my cry and You run to my defense / I will walk unharmed / Angels all around / I will trust and not be moved
