Selah’s Landmark 'Rose Of Bethehem' Reissued Today With Five Bonus Selections
Multi Dove Award-winning Curb recording artist Selah revisits their 2002 landmark Christmas recording, Rose of Bethlehem, with the release of today's Deluxe Edition. The updated collection showcases five bonus tracks alongside the classic project's 10 selections.
Highlighted by the modern Christmas hymn "Dance In The Dawn," produced by Ed Cash (Chris Tomlin, Crowder), Rose of Bethlehem: Deluxe Edition's new recordings also include an African-influenced rendition of "Little Drummer Boy"; "Where Are You Christmas?" showcasing lead vocals from Selah's Amy Perry; and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen/We Three Kings," featuring the Annie Moses Band. Additionally, the project includes "Mary Sweet Mary," a duet with Plumb, from Selah's 2006 Bless The Broken Road: The Duets Album.
Selah's only full-length Christmas set in a career spanning nearly two decades, the original Rose of Bethlehem showcases the trio's founding members: Todd Smith, Nicol Sponberg and Allan Hall. The album includes now-classic arrangements of such favorites as "Joy," "O Holy Night," "Light of the Stable" and "Once Upon A Christmas," featuring country music icon Dolly Parton.
"When we initially recorded this album 14 years ago, we were nervous about how it would turn out," says Selah's Todd Smith. "Looking back now, the album is one of our absolute favorites and we've heard countless stories of what this music has meant to our fans. We thought it would be fun to refresh the project with new recordings featuring Amy, who has been with us for 11 years now."
Comprised of Todd Smith, Allan Hall and Amy Perry, Selah is one of Christian music's most beloved groups. For nearly 20 years, the trio's music has brought hope and healing while helping introduce classic songs of faith to a new generation. With a career boasting total sales surpassing 4 million album and single units combined, Selah has garnered eight Gospel Music Association Dove Awards-including five Inspirational Album of the Year trophies-and eight #1 singles. The group's Greatest Hymns, Vol. 2, landed at #1 on Nielsen SoundScan's Inspirational chart following its August debut.
Rose of Bethlehem: Deluxe Edition, a Curb Records release, will be distributed by Word Distribution.
