Brinson to Release "Black Canvas" EP June 3rd
Brinson's 5th studio album proclaims that God can create beautiful redemption on anyone's "Black Canvas".
GodChaserz CEO / Artist sets up his 5th solo project entitled Black Canvas: UWMA 2. This EP is the sequel to Brinson's 4th studio album, Until We Meet Again. The project continues with the theme of the redemption of Christ in a man's life. True forgiveness and forward moving with the help of God is the beauty God creates from man's darkest moments.
The album begins with "What They Saying" featuring T-Strike. Brinson gives a shadow of his song "Don't Rap No More" in his disappointment with the climate of Christian Hip-Hop. "Just look at the signs just look at the times look what they showing you / some rappers they hide some rappers they lied that money is what they loyal to," raps Brinson. The artist is saying that this should only be about the Great Commission.
"Applause" is next up and featuring GodChaserz newest artist Oatmeal. The two emcees trade lines back and forth to give God the glory. Standing firm that the 'Applause' of men is not what we should be living for.
Brinson reveals his fight with being able to forgive on the song "Grudges". The haunting production gives the back drop to his confessions to his Heavenly Father. "I need to forgive but I really don't want to / What do you do when the angers inside you," raps Brinson.
The EP takes an uplifting turn with vocals from Gospel sensation Uncle Reece on "I'm Still Alive". Brinson dishes about his struggle with suicide and how the power of calling on Jesus saved him from depression. "I'm Still Alive" is the heart and soul of the project. "I was at my lowest, when God pulled me out of my dark situation. I knew that God was going to use this song to bring others out of suicidal thoughts and depression," shares Brinson.
The track "Blessings Overflowing" features brother duo Oatmeal & Naz. Next, fans of Brinson's lyricism will enjoy his verbal onslaught on "A Thing Called Grace". Finally, Black Canvas: UWMA 2 wraps up with a sinner's prayer, compelling listeners to come to the cross.
Black Canvas: UWMA 2 releases Friday, June 3rd and will be available through Syntax Distribution exclusively on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play.
Pre-order Black Canvas: UWMA 2 at iTunes.
