Robert E. Person Leads Off TheArc Theater's "Double Time Jazz Series"
Vocalist Robert E. Person is continuing to prove and expand his versatile artistry in music and in the arts. Through his humble character, one may not immediately recognize this celebrated singer and songwriter who has performed for The Pope, sang on tour with Josh Groban, headlined stages and theatres across the country and internationally, and won multiple music awards. But his enormous talent, commanding showmanship and anointed voice are enough to continue propelling Robert into the upper echelon of artist and performers in music and theater.
After an impressive show at the famous Washington DC's Blues Alley in January, Robert has been sought after to perform at TheArc Theater and launch their Double Time Jazz Series this spring. Robert, along with his musicians Allyn Johnson, and Nasir Abadey's Washington Renaissance Orchestra, will perform Friday, April 8 at 8PM. With his signature exquisite vocals and charming stage presence, Robert and his dynamic band will fill the 365-seat theater with the sounds of Big Band Swing, Classic Broadway Hits and Inspirational Ballads. Also performing in TheArc Theater's Double Time Jazz Series are Kim Jordan, Black Alley Band and Grammy nominated Robert Glasper Trio.
In addition to his upcoming Double Time Jazz concert, Robert will be attending the 30th Annual Washington Area Music Awards on April 10 at the State Theatre in Falls Church, VA. He has been nominated for two Washington Area Music Awards (The Wammies) in the categories of Gospel Inspirational Vocalist of the Year and Gospel Inspirational Recording of the Year (Love Divine). Robert's currently has two singles from his LOVE DIVINE album on two radio formats - Gospel and Jazz. His all new "For Me" single is currently moving up on the Gospel radio charts and his "I Really Love You" single is impacting Jazz radio now. LOVE DIVINE is distributed by New Day Christian Distributors and is available on all digital music outlets.
