Chris Tomlin Releases New Christmas Video & Talks of a New 2016 Album

Chris Tomlin's Christmas album is the best selling Christmas album this year. ADORE: Christmas Songs of Worship currently sits at #1 on Billboard's Christian Albums chart. Now, Tomlin has released the third video off his highly successful Christmas album, "A Christmas Alleluia (feat. Lauren Daigle & Leslie Jordan of All Sons & Daughters)." This video follows after "Noel (Feat. Lauren Daigle)" which was No. 1 on the AC Monitored Chart and "He Shall Reign Forevermore" was peaked at #4.
According to a recent interview with Billboard, Tomlin reveals that he wants every song on the record to tell the story of Jesus Christ and His birth: "I didn't think that I'd do another Christmas album [the first was 2009's Glory in the Highest: Christmas Songs of Worship], but I thought more and more about all the traditional, more spiritual Christmas songs and how meaningful they are. I wanted to do a worship album. The classic songs that I decided on have always been so important to me, so essentially we wanted to record worship tracks about the true meaning of Christmas.
Songs like "Winter Wonderland" and "Santa Baby" are fine but they're not right for me. The story of Christmas -- the birth of Jesus is what I wanted to center on and songs that would convey that powerful story."
With the closing of 2015, a year full of touring, new music and sold-out Worship Night In America events for Tomlin, he has earned several top spots on Billboard's year-end charts. Tomlin was named the Top Male Christian Artist and landed in the top 3 on both the Top Christian Artists Chart and Christian Albums Artists charts.Love Ran Red took the No. 3 spot on the Christian Albums chart. But there is no stopping for Tomlin. He reveals to Billboard that he will have a new album coming in the new year. Speaking of his plans for 2016, Tomlin outlines: "We have a few dates scheduled so far. Worship night in America is a huge thing for us, so we'll be doing that in major cities including New York again. We'll also make a record. I don't think I'll spend as much time on the road this coming year. But no, I don't ever think about trying to top any success that I have had."
