Gospel Artist Tim Bowman Jr. Gets Married

Gospel artist Tim Bowman Jr. has tied the knot. The "I'm Good" singer has married Brelyn Freeman. Tim proposed to his girlfriend, Brelyn Freeman, on December 25, 2014, while his family was celebrating Christmas in Michigan. The couple were married on October 10, 2015 in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
On Oct. 10, 2015, more than 3,000 guests watched the couple exchange vows at First Baptist Church of Glenarden in Upper Marlboro, Md. More tuned in at home, through Twitter's live-stream video app, Periscope. The groom serenaded the bride with Whitney Houston's "I Believe in You and Me" as she walked down the aisle.
Later, 600 friends and family members gathered for a reception at the Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel in Arlington. During the reception, Brelyn presented her father with a "certificate of purity."
The two were introduced in January 2010 by Tim's aunt, the award-winning gospel singer Vickie Winans, at the Stellar Awards, gospel music's premier night, in Nashville. Winans, the show's emcee and a friend of Brelyn's mother, had invited the Freeman family up to her suite to catch up before the night's festivities.
"When me, my mom and everyone walked into the room, we were all talking about Tim. His aunt said, 'Watch, he's going to like you.' I said, 'Well, of course he is!' " recalls Brelyn, the owner of Breezy's Boutique in Waldorf, Md., and the media director of Spirit of Faith Christian Center in Temple Hills.
And he did, a lot. "She was beautiful, had a very nice personality and was confident," says Tim, a gospel singer-songwriter and a traveling church minister of music.
His only reservation was their six-year age difference. "Although we had a great attraction, I couldn't take my mind there," he says.
They left that weekend on friendly terms but didn't reconnect until almost a year later, when Brelyn posted on Tim's Facebook page. Soon, they were exchanging phone numbers and texting.
Meanwhile Tim has a new single out. It's entitled "I'm Good" and it's currently sitting at Billboard's Gospel Songs Chart at #7. He started his music career, in 2012, with the release of, Beautiful, by Trippin 'N' Rhythm Records. This album was his breakthrough release upon the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums and Independent Albums charts. The song, "He Will", featuring Vickie Winans charted on the Billboard magazine Hot Gospel Songs chart.
