Chris Tomlin is Planning His Christmas Album For This Year
While the past year has been consumed with promoting and touring in support of "Love Ran Red," worship leader & songwriter Chris Tomlin is thinking of making another Christmas album. It would be a follow-up to 2009's "Glory in the Highest: Christmas Songs of Worship." He has revealed that newcomer Lauren Daigle will be featured on his forthcoming Christmas project. Another detail we know about the Yuletide project is that it will be a live recording.
Besides recording his new Christmas album, Tomlin is also looking to spend as much time as he can with his wife and two daughters; his second daughter was born in October.Even when he's on tour, Tomlin's schedule allows him to get home two or three days a week. When it doesn't, he rents a bus and the family travels together."We try to find a good balance," he says.
"I call people to worship," says Tomlin, who is in the midst of his "Love Ran Red" tour with Tenth Avenue North and Rend Collective. "That's what it is all about."
Tomlin is arguable the biggest name in contemporary Christian music. Over 20 years, he's released nine albums, won 21 Dove Awards and a Grammy Award (he's been nominated eight times). More than that, his work has become part of the very fabric of churches around the world. Songs like "How Great is Our God" are often sung as part of services each week.
