Cameron Diaz to Host NBC's 'Saturday Night Live' with Musical Guest Bruno Mars on Nov 22nd
NBC has just officially announced that Cameron Diaz will be back to host "Saturday Night Live" on November 22nd with musical guest Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson.
This will be Diaz' fourth time hosting SNL and Bruno Mars second time as he as host and musical guest back in 2012.
Diaz is best know for her roles in The Mask, My Best Friend's Wedding and There's Something About Mary. Other high-profile credits include the two Charlie's Angels films, voicing the character Princess Fiona in the Shrek series, Any Given Sunday, Knight and Day, The Holiday, The Green Hornet and Bad Teacher.
Diaz has received four Golden Globe Award nominations for her performances in the movies, Being John Malkovich, Vanilla Sky, Gangs of New York, and There's Something About Mary for which she also won the New York Film Critics Best Lead Actress Award. In 2013, Diaz was named the highest paid actress over 40 in Hollywood.
Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson are both promoting their latest single "Uptown Funk!". The single will release on Monday, November 10, and be the first single off Mark's new album.
The 40th Season of "SNL" kicked off on September 27th with Guardians of the Galaxy movie star Chris Pratt hosting and musical guest Ariana Grande, both making SNL debuts.
The long-time voice of "Saturday Night Live", announcer Don Pardo, passed away last month at age 96. He was hired for "SNL" in 1975. Pardo's signature vocal delivery was a staple on the series for 38 seasons. NBC has decided to bring in "SNL" alum Darrell Hammond to take over for Pardo as new announcer of the live-comedy show.
Hammond was a cast member on "Saturday Night Live" from 1995-2009 and was best known for his impressions on the show including Bill Clinton, Sean Connery, Donald Trump and several others.
"SNL" has been going through a lot of changes they have announced more today for the upcoming 40th season. Comedian/writer Michael Che is set to replace Cecily Strong as the anchor for the weekly segment "Weekend Update". Che will co-anchor the segment with Colin Jost, who began to co-anchor with Strong midway through last season.
