'Serena' Movie Release Date 2015 Starring Jennifer Lawrence & Bradley Cooper, Watch New Trailer Here (VIDEO)
The upcoming movie Serena has released another new trailer with co-stars Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence.
Serena is set to release in the U.S on February 26, 2015 to iTunes and VOD and theaters on March 27, 2015.
"I've sort of hit the jackpot [in] being able to work with Jennifer Lawrence," Bradley recently shared. "Once she breathed life into this character, it becomes much more dimensional. It would be easy to portray her as a stock character. And there's just not one moment where you don't believe that she is a human being."
He added, "She is a wonderful, wonderful asset. Her probably biggest asset is her level of relaxation when she acts. . . . It's a very thrilling thing to be a part of, as a partner in the scene [who] takes you into the scene. Very much like Robert De Niro. They're very similar that way."
Lawrence and Cooper are joining together again to make their third film together (Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle). The new film Serena, is directed by Susanne Bier and based on the book by the same name by Ron Rash.
Serena is set during The Great Depression in North Carolina. The movie focuses on Lawrence (Serena) and Cooper (George Pemberton) as newlyweds and their struggle for the future of their timber empire when Serena discovers that she is not able to bear children of her own.
Along with Lawrence and Cooper, the film also stars Rhys Ifans, Toby Jones, Sean Harris, Sam Reid, David Dencik, Blake Ritson, Ned Dennehy, Kim Bodnia and Ana Ularu. Ben Cosgrove is the producer for Serena and the screenplay was written by Christopher Kyle.
The film was originally to be directed by Darren Aronofsky, with Angelina Jolie as the title character. Bier replaced Aronofsky and cast Lawrence and Cooper. Filming took place in the Czech Republic at Barrandov Studios from March 26 to May 2012. Bier took more than 18 months to complete the film, but there were no re-shoots or problems in post-production. They made the film on a budget of $25-30 million.
Jennifer Lawrence just finished filming the Hunger Games movie series. The next movie The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is set to release on November 21st. At age 22, Lawrence's performance in Silver Linings Playbook (2012) earned her several awards, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress (Musical or Comedy) and the Academy Award for Best Actress, making her the second-youngest Best Actress winner at the Oscars.
