Motorola Moto 360 Vs. Samsung Gear S: The Battle Of SmartWatch - Which Is The Better Android Smart Watch?
This year, we've witnessed the evolution of smartphones. From phones, now watches are very usable and smart too. Samsung and Motorola released their smart watches this year and we will compare them so you can see what the better option is.
In terms of design, Motorola's Moto 360 has a circular display, metal finish and leather strap that gives it a premium look. Built from stainless steel, it weighs 49g and is no larger than the average fashion watch, and uses the standard 22mm strap fitting so you can swap the leather band out for your own. It looks just like a regular analogue watch because of its features and because of that, many people prefer the look of this watch.
Samsung Gear S has the biggest screen of any available smartwatch out there because of the QWERTY keyboard. It will look great on big hands but might look weird and funny with small hands. The design still stands out because you can use the watch on its own or pair it with a smart phone, but according to Master Herald the design might not suit everyone's taste.
In terms of compatibility, the Galaxy Gear S might not be as advanced as the other latest smart watches but it is definitely compatible with most of their present generation devices that are in the market.
Motorola takes the crown here because it is highly compatible with any device that runs on Android v4.3 or higher, irrespective of make and model.
In terms of battery life, Samsung Gear S has an onboard 300 mAh battery that provides up to two days of run time, give or take, depending on whether you have your screen always on. This Gear can power down into a low-light clock display that stays on constantly, much like the Gear Live for Android Wear.
Cnet cited that Motorola Moto 360's battery life is not good enough for a watch. Its Android Wear software is awkward and not entirely useful, its fitness features are lacking, and its round display has a weird black bar at the bottom.
Although there are many differences with the smart watches, there are also similarities. Gizmag stated both watches offer (now industry standard for smartwatches) IP67 water resistance. This means it can sit in 1 m (3.3 ft) of water for 30 minutes and keep on ticking.
Technologies nowadays offer great comfort for the public, we just have to wait and watch what the distributor can come up next.
