'Transformers 5': Fourth Installment Grossed Around $1 Billion, Fox And LaBeouf Rumored To Return
"Transformers 4: Age of Extinction" was released last June 24, 2014 and became a box-office hit. As of Oct. 9, 2014, the movie grossed an estimate total of $1 billion worldwide, combining the estimated domestic gross of $245 million and estimated foreign gross of $841 million. However, this does not bring about that the director of Transformers franchise, Michael Bay, will still be piloting the next installment.
Director Michael Bay spoke his thoughts on a statement in Air Herald, which indicates that he is now prepared to move on to his other projects. "I will pass the baton for future 'Transformers' movies while I can focus somewhere else," he said. "There's a lot that's unexplored, but that's for the next director to figure out," he added.
As rumored, actress Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox are going to reprise their roles as they return to the franchise, as per Movie Pilot. Fox shared her thoughts in a statement in the said website. "I'm not sure if I'll return," she said. "As long as things are good between everyone and Shia returns with me I'd like to see us partner up with a new cast like a cross over," she said.
Movie Pilot also reveals LaBeouf's thoughts on returning to the movie. "It would be good to do another film but I doubt with the new changes since the third film that Megan could return you know, it might be a love war if me or Rosie both return you know it's not that I don't think about it," the actor said. The actor also decidedly hesitates if he'll be back for another movie. He also said that he will do another Michael Bay film, but not "Transformers".
Meanwhile, IGN reveals that the fused effort of Brave Robotics, Asratec, and Takara Tomy, the company behind the first line of Transformers toys, creates another project called "J-deite quarter". It is a quarter-scale machine that is able to transform from a robot to a car. The robot is known to be 4.3 feet (1.3 meters) tall and it weighs 77 pounds (35 kilos). As a bipedal robot, the machine moves at a speed of 0.63 miles per hour (1 kilometer per hour). In its car form, it can reach 6.2 miles per hour (10 kilometers per hour). The machine is motorized by V-Sido software, which is creator and developed by Wataru Yoshizaki.
Watch out for the return of the cinematic battle between the Autobots, the Decepticons, and humans. The fifth installment of the hit franchise "Transformers" is set to premiere in theaters and cinemas on June 24, 2016.
